Katina was sick of being stuck in her apartment. It was extremely unbearable. So she got up turned the tv off. Grabbed her purse and her keys and ran down her stairs to slip on her shoes. She made sure the front door was locked before she walked into the garage. Katina pressed the garage door button so that it would open and walked to the other side of her silver Voltswagon. She opened the door and got into the driver seat. The nice leather seats felt comfortable to her. She shut the door and turned the car on buckling herself up before she backed out of the garage and out of her driveway.
Katina pressed the button she had in her car to shut the garage door again. She drove to the first stop sign the nturned onto the rode that led to the mall. halfway there she hit a stop light and as she waited for it to turn green she flipped through the radio channels to find something. With no luck she just turned it off. The twenty year old bruinette tapped her fingers on the wheel and bit down on her lip. She could be impatient sometimes. Finally the light turned green and she drove at the speed the people infront of her were driving at.
The bruinette slowed and turned onto the road that would get her to the malls parking lot. She sped up a bit finally getting out from behind those slow pokes. They drove like old people.
Finding a parking space was not very easy in this area but once she finally found one it was a good walk away from the malls side doors. She sighed but walked the distance anyway. The girl was in a denim mini skirt silver heels and a close to silver halter top. She made her way into the mall and looked for the first store she normally shopped at. When she found it she walked inside and looked around trying a few things on and figuring out what she actually wanted. When she found something she liked she walked up to the cashiers counter and bought the clothes. Katina walked out of the store and was looked around when she ran into someone. Katina fell onto the ground and her purse fell off her shoulder along with her bag of clothes she just bought. The person she ran into laughed and just kept walking. Katina glared at them and said something in russian after them.

Shopping wasn’t a guys forte, nor did guys really adore it, but it had to be done. Summer was here and well, no duh, new clothes will be needed. Couldn’t really walk outside with long baggy grey pants and a hoodie, really. That would be odd. Wouldn’t one get hot in clothes like that? Sighing as he walked into the mall, after finding a decent parking spot in Timbuktu, the first thing he spotted was a Subway. Great, that just got him hungry, though he just had some Arabic food. That cheese, some odd sauce, and a pita bread. Looked weird, tasted good— Heavenly good. Never judge a book by the cover, right? Right. Well, letting his eyes divert form that darn subway that was taking his attention and stomach away, he finally saw a Starbucks. Making a face, like he was trying to refuse the urge— But couldn’t. immediately changing course, he diverted his feet and approached the Starbucks. Ah man, coffee was like a god; everyone needed it.
Of coarse, being a Starbucks, there was a line and of coarse, being the impatient guy Kaze was, he stayed in line though swayed to and fro; almost eager to get up in front. Hands slipped into those baggy dark blue jeans, and those cerulean eyes stared at the few heads ahead of him. God… If there were a little less people here, he’d push himself through. A few moments passed, and he saw it’ the guy in front of him moved aside, and immediately, he walked to the front, asking for that mint cappuccino thing they had going on. It was almost five dollars, or close to it, so he had no problem with that. Kaze may be on the poor side of life, but when you got a pay check, you felt rich; until it’s gone. Paying up and awaiting his cappuccino, he glanced around. Today was a busy day, there were actually a lot of people here. Err, Kaze hated the crowds. No, it wasn’t a phobic, really, just more along the liens of weary. Hearing the women speak, his attention diverted to her and he took his cappuccino. Mm, minty goodness!
Contently, he walked out of Starbucks, and aimlessly walked around. Those eyes of his glanced at people, up and down, and looked at the many different stores inside. What he needed was something that fits and something that made him look handsome, right? Gah, too bad he was kind of new to Hawaii and didn’t have much friends. Not like he’d invite people to just say he looked like shit or not; it wasn’t his forte either. Kaze was that lone wolf, too scared to get close, too scared inside, though on the out, he remained strong. That was his weakness. every time he got “pwn”ed or dissed, mistreated, taken advantaged of, cheated on, excreta, he won’t show it, but inside he was about to break.
Walking around a family, he made his way to the center-area of said mall, with the coffee halfway finished. Ah, all was good today… So far. Now he just needed to find an Abercrombie or whatever it was called and get some decent clothes. Eh, he wasn’t all name-brands, since to him, they all came form the same store, just got slapped with a name, but hey… Attraction. Walking around more and finally hearing the noises of an empty cup, he looked at it before throwing the continents away. Okay, time to get serious. Wallet. Store. Clothes. Home. Television. Bed. And that was his schedule. No more shit! He would get in, get the clothes, and get on out, before he distracted himself more. Cloths, clothes, clothes… Walking around more, his hands out of his jeans, he glanced around, could of sworn there was an Abercrombie in this mall, he could of sworn. Many people had bags around him, so maybe one of those bags was an Abercrombie one, and he’d know if that store was in this mall. Letting his eyes wander around, looking for something that could tell him (he refused to ask), he noticed something, which caused his movements to cease. Herm, now that was rude. Watching a women fall… Kaze was a mean jack ass, but he held some respect for women. Hey, kick him in the balls, and he wouldn’t slug you, if you were a girl. A guy, consider yourself buried next to someone lese in a cemetery.
Getting himself into people’s business was a habit of his, so, he approached the miss. Crouching down, he picked up her purse, since it was further away than her bag of whatever she had. She could get that since it was closer to her, “Heh, what a jack ass, eh?” He commented, glancing at the guy before standing up and taking a few more steps to her. “Here.” And no, he was not going to ask if she was alright. If she wasn’t, she would be bitching or bleeding, or look like utter crap’ola upon the floor. Holding out his hand, purse handle in it, she could take it and get up herself, or use his hand and pull herself up; didn’t matter to him. But alas, curiosity filled his mind, “Was that Russian or German, miss?”

Katina was gathering everything up and still mumbling in her heritage language. She hadn't some people that walked around this place. They were rude as anything. Katina noticed that her purse was a little over a foot ahead of her. She sighed. Before she could get up to get her purse someone had picked it up. She heard a males voice and looked up at the man. She didn't smile at him at all. Her eyes moved from his face to her purse in his hand. She took it and got up as easily as she could.
Katina straightened her clothes making sure they didn't mess up too much. She picked up her shopping bag and held it in her right hand. Her left arm crossed over her stomach holding her right elbow. "Yes. It seems that many people are." She said slightly quiet so only he could hear her voice. "Thank you by the way." She said. Her Russian accent glided gracefully with her words. She looked up at the guy again not letting her crystal blue eyes reach his.
The Bruinette nodded to his last question. "It was Russian. I am full Russian." She said. Katina didn't speak loud whe nshe tld anyone that she was Russian. She wasn't ashamed of it. She just didn't trust very many people with her heritage. Everyday on the news she heard about wha tall the Russian Mofia was doing and the communists also. It bothered her.
The blue eyed girl was afraid of being accused. She didn't want anyone to talk to her or abotu her like she was apart of the mofia or like she was a communist. She was neither and she wanted people to know that. Where she used to live she was accused and treated somewhat badly. Thats when she lost more of her trust for people. It would take anyone a while to gain it no matter how sweet and kind you are to her.
Katina looked around wonderign wha tshe should do know. Should she tell him thanks again and walk away or should she just stand here? She didn't want to be rude so she just looked at him and extended a hand out towards him. When she spoke she sounded kind of nervous. She knew she didn't hide it well. "I'm Katina. Katina Gonchar." She introduced herself. Katina didn't know wha the would do but she didn't mind. She just waited to see if he shook her hand at all. Would he be like the others and just ignore a proper introduction or would h jsut take it as is? "Everyone is different Katina. Not everyone is like the people in your past." She thought to herself trying to convince herself that not veryone is going to hurt her. Of course that never helped her.

Seems like everyone was normal; this rudeness. It was such a common thing in the world, and sadly, Kaze could be worse than that guy, but to other males. His mind was one confusing place, full of dead ends and forks in the road. Basically, don’t have an opening for him to be mad, or don’t anger him in any way, Kaze, was basically nice. See? He even helped this girl, by sticking his nose in someone else’s business, as usual. He tended to do that a lot, probably why he had more enemies than friends… But like he cared. Life was a bitch, and she had puppies. What was one big problem was that and more. For an odd reason, he wanted to aggravate the guy, but alas, he walked away. Let alone, his attention was to the miss anyways. Holding out his hand to her, she had some options, and the one she took was just taking back her purse and getting up by herself. Hmm, strong girl.
So, many people were, him too? Come on, he was worse. But then again, this women didn’t know. Nope. He was nice for the moment; nice for the day. Everything was going alright so far, so, there was really no option to be moody or upset. This didn’t happen to him anyways. “Yeah, but welcome to America.” A tad sarcastic. Well, the cities here were worse. More bumping, and more crime. He was going to say welcome to life, but, nah. Hawaii was part of America, just chained off like Alaska; but instead of surrounded by water and Canada, Hawaii just had water. Heh, isolation. “And you’re welcome. No problem.” Hell no it was no problem at all. Anyone would help, right? Eh, he didn’t really comprehended to the thanks, it was just the natural thing to do, right? Help someone up? No one helped him back in the day, but that never stopped him of “trying” to help others.
At least she wasn’t bruised or bleeding or anything, right? Else he’d go over there and grab that guy. Heh, loved to get into problems, he did. Yet, her tunes were not English at all. Didn’t people here speak English or… Hawaiian? Whatever the native tongue was? Well, most people. Seemed like some spoke their own native tongue, like this miss over here. Hmm, Russian? So, one of his two guesses were right! That was awesome. Just proves that you did learn something form the television! Yup. Ah, and she was full Russian? Hint the sexy accent. He thought, smiling a tad, “Full Russian? Ya don’t say. Usually people are mutts. Half of this, half of that— Ya know…” Well, that was common; mutts. Wouldn’t believe he was half Japanese, now would you? Nah. didn’t have the eyes, the accent. Missed everything except the brain. “Like me for instance—” And he talked too much. Why was he so conversational today? Usually he’d just say what was needed to be said then shut up. Might be because today was a good day so far for him. Hmm, might be that…
Still, a full Russian in Hawaii, now that was oddly funny to him. Why this small island and not your big country? Hell, Kaze would go to Russia. It was big, though he was unfamiliar with the culture, and the language. Eh, he’d probably end up getting shot there for saying something wrong. Eh, not like he’d get shot here. The world was a messy place; no where was safe. He learned that the hard way, hint to probably why he moved to a smaller location; Hawaii. Sure, less room for him to hide if he started shit, but that was it; he would lessen himself from doing that. Well, he wasn’t that much of a trouble maker, just a pain in the rear to deal with if you aggravated him enough.
Hmm… well, what to do now. Moving some of his weight on one foot, he thought for a moment, not really knowing what to do. Eh, he was about to leave; speak a have a nice day or something, then go on his way to find some clothing store and get some garb. But alas, she spoke, and once again, his eyes diverted to hers, though hers avoided his. Why? “The name’s Kaze Evans.” He spoke, then realized that it could have been taken as Evans, Kaze, by the way he said it, let alone, Evans could be a first name… “Uhh, Kaze’s the first name, Evan’s the last.” And with that, he finally saw her hand. Ah, so she actually had some manners. Usually people don’t do that at all. Nodding, he outstretched his hand and shook hers firmly. Well, he really didn’t know what to do now. Speak more and distract himself or— What, exactly? Talk and make a friend or just continue to do what eh was trying to do? “Know of any good clothin’ stores? Like Abercrombie, or somethin’?” He asked, curiously before taking his hand back, “I mean, I’ve been here before, but the place is too big, I’m always forgettin’ where the stores are…” Glancing to the side, he did see a Sears, but… You know… The clothes looked too country or embroidered for him. He may be a little of a county boy in that city thug exterior, but he won’t dress up as one much. Sears was out. Looking back to her, he smiled, awaiting an answer.
OOC;; Sorry it’s crap, just work up and— *poofs to school* Eww, Thursday…

Katina smiled. He still seemed nice. But that was at the moment. All of that could change in a second. Katina grimaced. "Yes i am full Russian." She said. She smiled and laughed slightly when he made a comment on half & half people. She stopped smiling and laughing when he cut his own sentence off.
The bruinette let her arm slide back to her side after he shook her hand. She smiled slightly. "I kinda figured your first name was Kaze." She said.
still not giving him any eye contact she looked at his face and anywhere behind him as she spoke. "Umm there are some around here." She said. "Would it be allright if you follow me to them? I can't exactly say where they are unless i see places i remember them being near." She said.
As Katina waited for an answer she adjusted her purse, which was on her shoulder, and switched hands with the bag she held. She wondered if Kaze would be her first friend here in this small place. She couldn't know for sure. Atleast for a while.
The crystal eyed bruinette decided to try and get to know him as casually as possible. "So, Kaze, how old are you?" She asked him. Maybe that was a dumb question to ask but it was allready said. Oh well, atleast she'd figure more out about him.
Katina didn't know how long he would be kind to her. So she was thinking on just taking him to wherever he needed to go and just thank him again and head to another store to shop more. That was all he needed right? He helped her, now she could help him. Katina couldn't just walk away without giving something in return.
The girl looked around a bit. She wanted to give him eye contact but was completely afraid to do so. Her eyes were easy to read and it made it easier for people to see the things she didn't want them to see. some things she didn't trust people with. And if they would see her eyes they would figure all that out probably and won't keep it to themselves.
What should happen AFTER i show him where he needs to go? She thought to herself. Well it was nice tha the helped me out. I thought people would just walk away. Katina smiled to herself then stopped. Oops. Katina looked behind her then at her watch. Wow they stood there for almost twenty minutes.

People were like animals inside, you would never know when they would change into something else. Some were more hastily, and some took a while to change. Kaze was someone that could easily change very quickly, depending on one thing: You anger him in some way. All in all, he was nice, sarcastic, and a harsh joker, but tick him off, bro, he acted as though he had IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder). Throwing dishes, cussing, having a little fit like some kid that didn’t get his way. But here, hey, Katina did nothing wrong at all, so there clearly was no reason to get mad. Hell, he offered to help and even gave her a little smile, though it looked more like a smirk than a smile. Heh, it was a habit of his; smirking.
Curiosity was in the air, and well, he just had to ask. Hey, you won’t learn anything unless you ask, right? Most of the time, yes. So he did. Heh, she was one hundred percent Russian. Now that was an odd thing; being whole of something. And so, he gave a little comment about it. Saying that usually people were mutts. And yeah, he cut himself off. He did talk about himself, but eh, she was a stranger. Like she wanted to know he was half-Japanese and half-American or whatever, right? So, he stopped himself and just smiled slightly, and introduced himself right back. It was the right thing to do anyways. He wasn’t that rude… Well, he was, just not now. There wasn’t anything to trigger his rudeness. “Ah, smart gal.” Another comment. Why smart? Usually people thought his name was Evan. Why they thought that, he had no idea.
Well, it was about time he asked. Quite frankly, he has been here a few times, but yeah, didn’t remember where everything was. Shopping was not, and I repeat, not a guy’s forte. Only thing he could shop for was two things: food, and electronics. Everything else was basically a hassle. Hearing her words, he nodded, “Yeah, that’d be great.” And a slight pause, “I understand, and thanks for helpin’.” He actually said thanks? Yup, today was a good day for him, though it did involve shopping…
Well, now he knew that asking got you things. Let alone was more easier than walking around quite aimlessly, looking for some store that looked alright for clothes. Let along being hungry, so his stomach made his eyes look for food, rather than what he really needed was some summer clothes. Taking a few steps towards her, he would follow wherever she walked, for she knew where the stores were, so hey, he won’t wander off. Was she curious, or was just trying to start up a conversation? Well, at least she tried; Kaze sucked at starting and upholding conversations, probably why he didn’t start one, really. “Uhh, I be twenty-three.” Yet, he wondered, “I look older, right?” Like twenty-five? Possibly, yes. He knew he shouldn’t ask about a women’s age or weight, or anything like that, but know what? He cared not. “How old are you? Twenty?” He asked, then guessed an age. She did look rather young and attractive, so, it seemed right to him. Heh, watch her be older than he is, like twenty-five or something. He’d laugh. Anyways, he knew that she tried to start a conversation, so… While he was following her, he would try to start one himself. Pondering for a moment, he thought to himself. What was a topic that people talked a lot about— Himself included? Well, video games was one thing, but she didn’t look like a gamer. Assumptions. Sports was another thing, but she didn’t look like a sports fan. More assumptions. Movies… Everyone watched movies! Smirking and walking right by her side now, he got a question; a random one, “Have a favorite movie at all?” Pausing for a moment, he stopped, his attention diverting to a restaurant, “Gosh, that place looks like they have some good grub.” And now, his mind was registering food. Yup, id that once today in this mall with the subway, but he avoided it, now, his eyes were just glued to the restaurant.

Katina smiled at him again as he said he'd follow. "No problem." She said. She heard his answer to her age question and shook her head, still smiling. "No actually you don't." She said. "I was actually thinking you were twenty-two." She told him. Wow he must get that alot. She thought looking away for a bit.
Katina wondered how long they would talk. She turned back to him when he asked how old she was. "You seem kind of straight forward." She said before giving him a smile. "You guessed my age perfectly. Do you do this alot?" She asked. Katina could be pretty straight forward herself. Sometimes she doesn't think before speaking.
Katina started to think when he asked her about a movie she liked. "Thats a very hard question." She said. "But i would have to say Hidalgo." She smiled. Katina loved horses so she wasn't scared to say one of her favorite movies was about a horse.
Katina kept walking trying to keep up with his pace. She wasnt a very tall girl so it didn't make her very fast. She tried concentrating on keeping the speed he had. She was actually doing pretty well. Then he stopped and she had to stop herself. Katina turned around and walked back over to him. She had stopped almost three feet ahead of him.
She followed his gaze and noticed that he was looking at one of the restaurants. She laughed remmebering that most guys do like food. She stopped at his side and looked at the restaurant as well. "Yes it does look pretty good." She said. "I went there just the other day when my mom came to visit." She smiled.
Katina turned around and looked back over at him. "We can stop for a bit if you'd like." She gestured. "I can pay." Katina smiled. She loved to do things like that for people. She took any opportunity she could get to do so. She loved to help peple out and do things for them. Even buying things for them at random or taking them out someplace. Even though she just met Kaze today didn't mean she couldn't let part of herslef open up to him. It was a good way to get to know her.
Katina waited for an answer and looked into the restuarant. There was no line and a few empty tables with no signs saying "reserved" on them. Perfect. She smiled to herself again as she thought to herself.

No problem? Heh, that’s what he said! Guess simple things like that were no problem to them. Shrugging, he began to follow her, though just by being a guy, his pace was a little fast, as if he had no time to be dawdling around. He, actually did have time, he just thought he didn’t; made a schedule in his mind. Get clothes, go home, eat, shower, television, bed, repeat process slightly the next day. Yeah, very “busy” guy, huh? So much free time it was beginning to bore him. Gosh, how he wished there was more crime in this town… That way he would be able to actually work on a case that would take a while, instead of these baby ones that take a few hours… seriously. So, he was a bouncer too. Didn’t take that much time in the day. But enough of that crap, he just needed some clothes for summer. Couldn’t really wear what he was wearing now, much.
So, the question game began. Kaze really had no problem with it, but if she hit some sensitive spot, like family or past, friends maybe, he might not answer-- No wait, he won’t answer and change the subject with his finesse and style. Okay, not that much finesse, but you get the idea; he’ll avoid the question. It was none of her business, that is, if she got into one of those sensitive questions. Heh, and so he was twenty-three. Looked older, in his eyes, but hearing her words he smiled. “Wow, ya don’t say. One year younger.” Sarcastically, and jokingly he replied. “Boy, I feel so much younger now.” He added. And him straight forward? That was like being blunt, right? Yup. And thus, means Kaze. Sure, there were some things he kept on the low key and silent on, but most of the time, he was blunt. “I do?” Pretending to look shocked, he perfectly knew she was getting to know him. Yup, he can and would be straight forward. And wow, she was twenty? Man, was he good or what! He should be on some guessing show… Nah. “Nah, it was just a lucky guess.” he would say yes, but he learned his lesson. Last time he said yes, the person asked another question, then another, and another, and Kaze got them wrong. So, truth be told…
So, in return, he asked a question right on back. And so, after some thought, he asked about movies. Everyone watched movies, right? Right? He sure hoped so. A few moments passed and she replied. It was a hard question? Then many movies. Tell of a good one. Some conversation! He hoped it was a movie he saw or liked or something, so he could maybe converse more. Conversations weren’t really… Well, he sucked at keeping them alive and starting them. Basically, he was boring to talk to most of the time. “Hidalgo. Hidalgo…” he pondered, trying to remember the movie. He could of sworn he saw it, he was a movie guy; saw a lot of movies, but yet, he couldn’t remember this one. Might of not seen it or might of just forgotten about it. “Eh, don’t remember it.” And why not say his kind of movies-- Nah, would probably bug her. Women were all “eww, gore is gross” all the time. Thinking for a moment, he thought of a movie that was less gore, “I think mine is Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.” But he was not sure. He had a lot of favorite movies, most were bloody as sin, like 30 Days of Night, and Saw I… Basically, anything that had violence and blood, was his movie.
Yet, he did not continue his little walk. Oh no, his eyes, once again caught something. Like a dog that found a special tree… Food. Something he had early in the morning-- Okay, not that early for he was not a morning person, but close enough… And now he wanted it again. His stomach was basically saying to feel it, then get cloths. The place did smell good, and the little special menu on a little black board out in the front looked good. Gosh, they probably did have some swell food there, huh? Hearing her words, he looked at her. Well, two minds were better than one, and that just meant it wasn’t him in this. “Ah, so ya did? Interestin’.” He spoke, not really believing her, but shrugging the idea off, he believed her. There was a thing called “coincidence.,” after all. “Hope they’re good.” So, he was considering going inside and eat? What about her help? Eh: screw it… Later…
We can stop? Didn’t he already stop? Haha. “Alright--” It was like a mother’s words to a child’s, like she gave him permission. Personally, he needed her help to get clothes and he thought this would make her just tell him where I was then leave, but hey; she didn’t do that. She even offered to pay? Ha! Don’t make him laugh… “A women, payin’ for me?” He said that before thinking, “Katine, no. That’s not how the game is played.” What game? Oh, just life. Guys usually paid for the women, you know? Food. Movies. Clothes. Etcetera. “I’ll pay for myself, and you pay for you.” He would offer to pay for her, but… That would be a hypocrite. Saying no for her offer, then offer himself. Shrugging, he walked on into the place and glanced around. A few empty sets here and there and no little signs. Those oceanic eyes glanced around for the right booth. Finding one that was a little bit more away form people, he walked over to it and took a seat there; snatching the menu that was on the side of the booth behind the salt and pepper. Opening it up, he looked inside, glancing about. He usually never tried anything new. What if he disliked it? It would be a waste of money. Glancing at Katina, he looked back down at the menu before putting it away. He’d just have what he always got form a restaurant like this…

Katina smiled. "Sorry. Maybe i should have said twenty-five." She smirked. She knew he was being saracstic and hoped her sarcasim didn't offend him in any way. If it did, she would just stay quiet till she got him wherever he wanted to be. Katina laughed and nodded. "Yes you seem very straight forward to me." She said. "But no worries i can be too. Something i speak before i think." She admitted. Well he might as well know something else about her. Hearing his answer to her other question she she giggled a bit. It was the kind of girly girl giggle or preppy girl giggle it was just smooth and normal. "Well it just seemed like you did this alot. If you did it wouldn't offend me at all." She said trying to keep the pace. Katina shrugged. "Well its about a guy who is half indian and half american. He has a wild mustang he never trained named, Hidalgo. He raced Hidalgo all around and he takes up a challenge to race over the ocean of fire, which is the desert, in Iraq." She explained. "Its based on a true story. Frank T. Hopkins was a real man and Hidalgo was a real painted mustang." She said. "I won't be surprised if nobody has seen it. Im just a true horse lover. Infact i own one." She said smiling as she thought of her Black and White Piebald paint, Jasper. She looked over at him as he told her about one of his favorite movies. "I've only seen the first one." She grimaced. "Haven't had time to rent any movies lately. And for me its always a plus to have someone watching a movie with you. Who does NOT talk." She sighed. Everytime she watched a movie with her mother she would gasp and scream or yell at the TV. her day would always sayd 'This is stupid'. And anything on the lines of that.
When Kaze stopped so did Katina. She had to walk back to his side though but didn't mind it. She nodded. "I have been here before." She said. "I come here on weekends though also. I forgot to mention that." She said to him. "Its my so called girls night out. With just me of course." She said. Even though it didn't sound or feel happy to her she still smiled.
Katina laughed at his mention on women not paying for him. "Well i know that rule. Its in the guys handbook to never let girls pay for them and in the girls to never offer. But i love offering. Giving is one of my favorite hobbies." She said. Katina nodded. "Ok then we'll go with that plain." She said. Katina followed him in and sat on the other side of the table to face him.
She picked up a seperate menu from him and looked to see if the usual was there. Yep it was. She would just get that and a pepsi. One of the waitresses came over Katina looked up at her and smiled. She asked Katina what she would like to order. "I will just get the usual and pepsi." She said. Katina gestured to Kaze so he could order next. She kind of felt bad for going first without seeing if he wanted to. Katina's usual was just a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a pepsi. She may look like a girly girl and preppy girl but she wasnt. She didn't care if she broke a nail, or got dirt on her shirts, and she loved food. She had a tomboyish side to her. But it sometimes took a bit to figure that out about her.

Ha, ha! Say twenty-five? “Twenty-six.” Eh, he can be sarcastic too, even if it was about himself. Eh, he got told a lot of things, so age wasn’t anything he was sensitive about. Only thing he remembered with age and was sensitive to, was the number eleven. All hell broke lose when he was eleven. So, that was really not his favorite number. So, he as straight forward. Not the first time someone called him that. It was nice to hear someone agree. And hey, he was basically the same way-- On some occasions. He really didn’t care, so he was blunt. Why would you care what other people say about you, if you were all alone in the world? Eh, yeah… Shrugging, he remained silent, just grinned when she giggled, and that was basically it. There goes conversation one. Walking onwards and sticking by her side, he just wondered what store she was going to take him to. Basically, anything was better than Sears…
And well, since they were walking together, why not have a conversation along the way, instead of being silent as the… Grave… You know? To his movie question, she replied about Hidalgo, and he Fast and the Furious. Yet… He tried to remember parts of the movie she saw. Why? Conversation. “I remember that movie!” He commented, his mind buzzing with the ending part of Hidalgo. “It was a good movie. Even though the horse was injured, he still won. Didn’t the horse fall in a trap in the desert or somethin’?” He was trying to recall the movie. Yeah, he saw it a long time ago, the credits said that Hidalgo’s legend was still alive in the USA; something about setting the horse free and such. Shrugging, eh made a face, feeling kind of retarded right now. He couldn’t remember the movie! Not all of it, just some parts, and he felt kind of dumb. To him, he felt as though he was pretending to have seen it. Ha.
Her next comment though, made him smile a little, “A horse?” He repeated to himself. Wow, must have some cash if she had a horse, right? Heh, it was his dream to be back tot hat farm boy, and have a little farm of his own; complete with horses too. He knew something’s about horses, though not much. He considered himself a noob upon the subject. And yet, horses were a subject he could talk about for a while-- Until you hit something he couldn’t talk about… Bet you didn’t think he was a farm person, eh? With his likes, attitude, and clothing. “What kind of horse do you have?” He asked, then added a comment, “I, myself, prefer those big horses, like Drafts, Gypsy Vanners, and Clydesdales; all paints.” Yeah. Big horse for a big guy, as they said, right? Who knows. He Didn’t like looking bigger than the horse. And well, she added something about not seeing much movies, and Kaze made a little sad face, as if she was missing things she could enjoy. “Heh, I know what you mean. Usually when I watch a movie, some idiot kicks my chair… Drives me insane.” Why couldn’t people sit still for an hour and thirty minutes? “Back where I come from, I have never even heard the movie for all them blasted--” He stopped, refraining himself from a certain word, “Gargh, don’t watch a movie in Detroit. All I gotta say.” Yup. People never shut up, and all the “Rated R: No one under seventeen allowed” ALWAYS has little four to eleven year old kids. No wonder the city is most dangerous; the kids think life is a movie… But aside form that-- Katina.
So she came here on weekends and forgot to mention it? Well, he didn’t ask. And her girls night out with just herself? Aww… “Just yourself? Ah come on now, you have friends; drag them out of beg to hang out with ya.” That was what he did a few times; literally went in his friends house and pulled him out of bed. Heh, teenagers. Her next slew of words made him raise a brow, and smirk a tad. Giving was her favorite hobby? Ah, perverted though alert! “Ya don’t say…” Sheesh, easy on the gutter-- It might just break. Shaking his head, he shrugged and walked on inside, letting the thought vanish and another arise-- This one on food. Men think of three things, you know. It’s pretty easy to remember: Food, sex, sports. There ya go.
Finding a booth and taking a seat, he scanned the menu before putting it back down. Now that he thought of it, eh should of stopped at an Asian restaurant. They had General Chicken. And boy, was that good stuff; he’d actually eat the whole thing then complain of a stomach-ache. Watching Katina sit down, he watched her for a moment before looking down at his lap, checking the time on his cell. Have a hot date? Nah, he had all the time in the world; Kaze was just curious to how long he has been in the mall. Almost an hour, wouldn’t ya know. Hearing voices, he turned his attention back to Katina and the hostess. The usual and Pepsi? YAY! A dream come true! Usually restaurants had “coke” products. There goes his Mountain Dew addiction. “Uhh, the fish and chips, and a Mountain Dew no ice.” No ice meant more caffeine; considering the ice took space, you know. Eh, he had some money to spend, wasn’t going to kill him. But the clothes would; considering shirts were what… Eight dollars plus, and jeans roughly twenty. America today; everything was so expensive. Well, conversation time. He’ll try again, “So uhh, what’s ‘the usual’?” Curious, and putting his nose where it didn’t belong. Could he wait to find out? Nope. “And umm,” Trying to think of a conversation, “Have… Any pets?” Childish question, but seriously; he sucked at having conversations, or well, starting them. Probably why people usually left him or the either way around. Leaning back on the booth, he sighed and fiddled around with the fork, awaiting an answer… And the food, then the ugly bill.

Katina smiled. She was starting to feel slightly comfortable with him around. She was slightly surprised when he said he had seen the movie. "Really?" She asked. "I didn't think anyone did. Wow. Then i guess im not alone." She said. Katina looked at him and smiled. She nodded. "Yes he did fall into a hidden ditch with spears. Thats where the evil Arab guy died." She said.
Katina wondered how he would react to her having a horse. She smiled at his reaction. "Yes i have a horse." She answered his question. She said. Katina looked over at him, still avoiding his eyes, and got ready to answer his other question. "My horse is a piebald paint. His name is Jasper." She said. Katina listend to what he liked. So he liked horses to. Amazing."The biggr heavy draft horses are pretty amazing. Friesian's are also. Even though they aren't heavy draft." She said. The bruinette listened to his agreement with watching movies. Katina laughed when he broke another sentence off. "Thanks for the advise." She replied to his warning.
Katina sighed and shook her head. "Its only me. I have lived here for a few months now and well no friends. Your the first one i've met that actually did not walk away over a 'sorry' or a 'good evening'." She paused. "I'm not one to go and just waltz up to someone i dont know. I'm not very outgoing. Today you caught my outgoing side. Well part of it atleast. I'm mostly very shy. You don't seem to bring out the complete shyness of me. But everyone else does." She said. Even though that was true her eyes never met his. Katina looked at him and smiled a bit. "It depends on what it is i can give." She said. She knew she could have said it the wrong way. He could have taken it wrong.
After sitting down and ordering her food, and after Kaze ordered his, she heard Kaze speak. "Oh my usual is just a bacon cheeseburger, with lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup, and no onions. With some french fries. And always a pepsi." She said. "Doesn't sound like something i would eat now does it? I'm not a full out girly girl like many others are." She said looking away without smiling. Katina looked back at him when he asked her another question. She shook her head. "Just my horse. I would love a german shephard around but i have an apartment and it wouldn't work out." She said. "Something to live with would be nice." She said.
Katina lived alone and it would be completely nice to have a room mate or something. Her parents come to visit her now and again but mainly on holidays. Katina still goes to college so its not very easy to have them come out around the school year.

Really? Yes really! He remember seeing it, vaguely. But he did see it, that was for sure. Heh, and she thought she was alone for she thought no one else watched the movie? He had to smirk on that one. That, made him start to think of another movie he adored: Saw. But yeah, most people thought that was a very gore-filled movie, while Kaze was all, “Uhh, where’s the gore?” See how his mind works? Nothing was “too” much for him. But yeah, he kept that inside; Fast and the Furious was a good movie too. Kind of sucked when you couldn’t say you favorite movie, for you have a million of them. Hearing the part about the spears, he nodded, “Yeah, I remember that part!” Probably the only part he remembered. But hey, he at least remembered something, right. Got into a little conversation.
Now, it was about horses. They continued to walk as they exchanged words, and yeah, he felt a little uncomfortable. Why? She was still a stranger, though acquainted. Didn’t know why he stuck with her; maybe it was more internal or something. Shrugging that fact off, he listened more. Ah, piebald. Not familiar with the breed, but hey; he knew what paints were! “Is the horse like-- 15.3 hands roughly?” He was guessing it was a smaller horse, since he never heard of it. And Jasper? “What’s his full name?” He replied. Kaze knew that there was a barn name, which was longer like Tridents Majestic Waves, and the nickname, which would be Trident, or something. That’s what he learned. A registered name, and then a shorter version. Wouldn’t call Kaze: Kaze Jeremiah Evans, no… Just Kaze. Watch him act like an idiot, acting for the horses name when she just state it. Hoped she knew, heh.
Friesians. Eh, they were black and beautiful, but not his type; he almost hated them. “Friesian’s are pretty, but I love the Clydesdale’s. they’re more out there and I don’t look like a huge guy on them either.” Thinking for a moment, he tried to remember the horses on his farm, or well, his family’s farm; to start up a conversation. Trying his best not to get close to that one day, he shut his eyes for a moment, looking down, before reopening them, getting a memory, “I used to go in competitions for my father with our horses.” Just a few. Not many places accepted a little ten year old kid, you know? But his father… Had his ways. And his father rubbed off on him: Kaze was just as equal as an ass hole as he was, just minus the abuse part. “We had this Leopard Appaloosa, another good breed; uhh, her name was Cow. I don’t remember her full name though; but she was so nice.” A pause, “Heh, and I rode a cow once; not the horse, the actual Big Betty milkin’ machine.” That cow was a fat ass… Stopping, he hastily changed the subject back to the movies. Forget about horses; just forget about them. He already ventured in his past too much right there; what if he remembered that day. Gosh, that would be a change of emotions right then and there. Hearing her words, he nodded with a little warm smile; nothing major. “Yeah, bad city.” No, very bad…
And why was he talking to much!? God, that was just driving him insane. He was supposed to be the kind of guy that just said what was needed to be said… God, Kaze; shut up for once, aye. Stopping, they began another conversation. At first, he didn’t believe her, but then he loosened up some. There was no reason not to believe her; could be true, though it was a little odd. As he heard her explanation, he smirked. Oh really now? A few months stay? Same for him; though it was more fo half of a year, then a few measly months. “‘Ey, same ‘ere! Been ‘ere a few months or so. Don’t have much friends, only a few.” Yeah, just a few. Maybe Katina would be one? Or maybe she already was one? Bah. Kaze wasn’t one to have friends. He kind of pushed them away with his attitude. But, oddly, didn’t push her away… Yet.
And she was shy? Don’t mean to be well, mean, but Kaze didn’t suspect her as shy. More like outgoing and talkative; even to strangers. He wasn’t one to like the shy people-- Usually walked away and ignored them for they were too “quiet”. Kaze needed some lively person, or someone that would talk with an open-minded conversation. “Nah, you’re not shy, just cautious.” There goes his biased opinion. Kind of as if she didn’t want to believe she was shy. She didn’t seem like the “shy” that he knew and… Ignored. He didn’t bring out the complete shyness like everyone else does? “Ah, the magic of the stranger.” And yes, she worded it a little wrong. Even “one” word out of text can make him think, well, wrong ideas. It was the same thing with angering him. “One” word out of text was all it took. He was like one of those tigers at the Las Vegas shows. Good, listened, moved wrong and he’d think you’re an antelope or something; yummy.
Speaking of yummy… Food. They both took a seat at a booth, that was a little bit away form other people. He wasn’t much of a people person, so tried to avoid them if he could. Like lines; if it was too long, he wavered back and forth, pushed people so he could get in front, or just left. He couldn’t tolerate so many people that he didn’t know much, for such a time. But whatever, right? Sure changed with Katina. Probably because she was just one person, and not super-gluing herself to him like some people did. Heh, and curiosity filled him up. He could wait, but nah. “Mm, bacon.” Yup, to him, bacon was delicious. Well, if you did it right. Some places he would pick it out for it wasn’t as crunchy as he liked. Now did it seem like something she would eat? “How would I know? I don’t really judge others like that.” He spoke with a little smile. Nah, only thing he judges was based on stereotypes. Yup… He was well, stereotypical. He believed in some, not much. And why judge a potential new friend? Nah, he wouldn’t risk it. “H’okay, fine,” Ah, change of mind, “You Don’t look like the kind to love them greasy foods, Katina.” Now him, he looked like he loved it. The cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, French fries. All the bad food that wasn’t healthy, but he kept that in-shape body. Didn’t want to be a slouch now. As for the pet conversation, he nodded as an agreement, “Same ‘ere. But sometimes I get too carried away, so I don’t have enough time for others, let alone an animal companion. Had a Guinea Pig, but uhh…” Yeah… Kind of died one day… Poor Chuck Norris the guinea pig… “Hope the food comes soon.” Watch, he’ll critic the food…

Katina smiled. "Well its nice to know that someone else has seen it around here besides me." She said. Katina thought about her horse. When he asked her how tall Jasper was she had to think for a bit. Height for horses was sometimes hard to remember. "Umm he's actually 16.5 hands high." She said. Katina heard Kaze's next question. She liked to talk about her horse. "His full name is 'Jasper's Quest'." She answered. "Not very good in some ways but whe ni got him i couldn't rename him. He was allready registered." She said. "I love the name Jasper though. Just the quest part i dont know about." She said.
Katina looked at Kaze. "You don't look like a "huge" guy off of them either." She smiled. "My horse is pretty fit. You'd look fine on him." She said. "Oh so you showed? Cool. I show jump." She said. Katina listened to what he was saying to her. "Appies are nice breeds but very stubborn and arrogant sometimes." She said. "I knew a few and some of them tried to throw me off." She grimaced. Katina laughed a bit. "Now i have never ridden a cow before."
Katina turned ot him again to listen. "Oh so why don't you have anyone?" She asked curious. Her eyes went slightly wide and turned away. "Sorry that was my place to ask. Sorry." She said. Katina stayed quiet. She know felt kind of stupid for that. Well if he could walk away then ok. That would be his choice she wouldn't try and change his mind.
Katina had started to answer Kaze's food questions and such. She nodded. "Yes bacon is amazing to me. These guys here make it amazingly crispy." She said. Katina smiled. "Well then thats good. Never judge a book by its cover." She said. "Even though i do it alot." She admitted. Katina didn't fully know if she could believe him but she waited to see if he would crack. If not in a few minutes she would believe him. Finally he did crack and she laughed. "No i don't. I have to be in shape for riding so i excercise. I run every morning before i do anything else." She said.
Katina thought on what he asked about pets. She really did wish she could have another animal, Or even a room mate. It would be nice. that way she didn't live alone. She could get creeped out at her place whe nshe was up alone at night and it was terribly dark. But she lived through it. Katina's thoughts were broken by his voice. Katina nodded kinda frowning a bit. "I get what you mean no need to finish." She said. Katina smiled again at his comment on the food. "It should come soon." She laughed.

Nice to know someone else has seen Hidalgo? Heh, same with her-- A female, no less, that watched the first Fast and the Furious! Usually… Women divert their attention to chick flicks and not sports, cars, gore movies that guys would drool over. Kaze, walked away form chick flicks. Prom Night, to him, was kind of like one. It sucked. Wasted money on that movie; all because a friend forced him to go. And by force, I mean literally pushed him in the car and drove on off. But that was back in the hood, back where he was form, not here; so, less friends, less forcing.
Now, the horse conversation. He smirked, catching a mistake… “Hands range form 0, 1, 2, 3, then back to 0 again. There is no 5.” That was what he has been told, and thus, stuck to it like glue. “If he was 16.5 hands like you said, that means he’s 17.2 hands. Pretty big.” Math. His weakness. Only time he was good at math is when people owned him money, or if he felt as though he got ripped off; he counted and seen for himself if he got the correct change back. “Yeah I know.” he spoke, about he registered part. When he was a kid, he wanted to change a horses name to something, but his mother told him he couldn’t. Only a little of horse knowledge was learned back at home. All he learned was how to farm and milk cows… That was a pain, considering the fruited lands were miles away form the home. Call it a nice long walk to the plantation area… And a nice walk to almost die…
Shaking his head, he looked away, already stating to venture to that one day in particular. Bad idea. That was one way to make him quiet, and now he was. He heard her and fiddled with his pants pocket before trying to not think of it. “I showed Cow in Western Pleasure. Family was more into Western than English…”” And why the silent tone now. God, snap out of it. Letting out a deep sigh, he knew he was making it obvious as if something was wrong. And thus, made an excuse, a mumble under his breath as if he didn’t want her to hear, “Damn store better not close soon.” Yeah, pretty shitty excuse, but it got him back to normal almost; though he didn’t look at her much, just ahead of him.
“Cow was a nice appaloosa; very motherly. She had a uhh-- Baby horse.” Forgot if it was a filly or a colt, so there ya go; baby horse; both genders in his mind. “And you should ride a cow. They won’t canter off if you kick their sides.” Yeah, Betty was all, “dumb kid, get off if me,” and lay back down. More words he heard and this one made him raise a brow; though refusing to look at her still. Call it a time out to regain the will to look. “Uhh, yeah, none of ya business.” He just agreed. Why he didn’t have friends? You will most likely see soon; when someone pisses him off. And watch it be in a joking manner too; Kaze just took things so seriously. It was a little rude of him, but oh well, right? She didn’t leave him before, and not now. Maybe she was used to the ass hole type?
Eh, he will refrain form asking her that… Now that they took a seat, the conversation was about bacon now. God that sounded good. Heh, too bad you won’t see Kaze up so early and or at a dinner for breakfast. Eh stopped eating breakfast ever since he went in the orphanage. He did though, however, had an occasional omelet during lunch or dinner; but that was too late for breakfast, and that was rare for him to have. Plus, if you married the dude… You’ll never get him out fo bed in the morning; only in the afternoon. He hated mornings. He’ll sleep in. he wouldn’t care of Jessica Alba was there nude; he’d continue to sleep. “They do?” A pause, letting a smirk grow, “Then I’ll take a little slip.” go on, stop him. He’ll stop. He was basically joking.
Never judge a book by its cover? He did that all the time. Looked like crap, he didn’t pick it up and read it, unless it was a Lee Child or a Tom Clancy novel; then he’d pick them up no problem. He liked the war-spy kind of novels. Yeah, fantasy too, like dragons-- But they were all for little kids, so he stuck with the agent novels. Eh, he cracked. She didn’t look like a “smothered in grease” lover like he was. “In shape for ridin’? Bah, you’re already in shape, look at yo--” Eh, stop. Did that meant he scanned her over, or was being nice? Eh-heh, both? “Yeah…” Kaze sighed, leaving the fork alone and looking at the time on his cell as a diversion again. Only two minutes passed; nice… Looking back up at her, he shrugged, “Ya know, you should come to the gym with me. You’d get a better work out than any run could do.” Boxing. Involved punching, leg movements, agility, strength, and well, everything else. It was his perfect sport. And no, forget the amateur wear; he was all out.
And she got what he meant, good. He would hate to say he forgot about Chuck Norris and his last squeaks were of pain. Oops. But inside, Kaze took better care of animals than people; he was just a kid back then with Chuck. He knows better now, but he doesn’t want to risk it; even with a mouse-- Unless he is certain. Nodding, he sighed, getting a tad impatient, so he leaned on the booth. So tempted he was to stretch a leg on the other side, but you know; she was sitting there; she’d react. “Hope it comes soon…” Tip was going down…

Katina smiled. Well he did not more about horses than she thought. "Well i say whatever is easier to say, but thanks for reminding me of that." She said. Katina laughed. "I dont pay much attention to hands anymore. If someone wants to know how many hands high a horse is i look at the papers." She said. "I'm a cheater i know." She said making her face look ashamed.
Katina smiled. Nice to know someone showed also. She thought. "Western doesn't have as many things that english does. And to me its less of a challenge." She said. Katina noticed that something was bothering him but didn't ask. She turned away and frowned. Well she wouldn't keep that conversation up anymore if he felt that way. Katina never liked to hurt anyone. "Trust me it won't be closed till the mall closes." She said. "Nothing to worry about."
Katina smiled. "Well the nshe was one of the nicer ones then. Good to have." She said. Katina laughed when he mentioned cows not galloping away. "I like horses because they do gallop away and don't just stand there eating grass all day." She said. Katina did notice her mistake of asking wh yhe had no one. She felt stupid for asking. "Yea sorry for my asking. I did tell you before that i don't think before i speak sometimes." She said in a softer tone. Katina looked down at her feet as she walked.
Katina smiled and nodded. "Yep. They do." She answered. Katina laughed. "I don't mind if you do." She said. really she didn't. If she didn't feel oddly comfortable with him around then she wouldn't. but she felt like she knew him for more than just a few minutes. Katina sat there across from him looking around the room. There weren't many people around them. Actually no one was around them. Normally this place was more crowded than ever. Katina turned back to him when she heard his comment. She blushed a bit and looked down at her hands. She couldn't help but smile. She tried not to laugh. Katina wasn't fully used to comments. When she finally looked up at him as he spoke again, she still blushed slightly. "Ok i think i can take up that offer." She said. "And then you can come and run with me sometime." She paused to look at him then she smiled. "Of course it could be AFTER i work and ride Jasper in the afternoon." She said. "You don't look like a morning person." She said.
Katina stayed quiet for a little while. She took her cellphone out and skimmed through her pictures. She didn't want it to stay too quiet to the point where it was akward. She found a good picture of Jasper and put the phone out to Kaze. "Thats my Jasper." She showed him. Jasper, in the picture, was standing nice and tall with a big first place red, white and blue ribbon pinned on his halter. His black and white coat was glistening as the sun shone on it. "My favorite picture of him so far." She smiled. Katina looked to her right and smiled again. "I told yo uthe food would come in a little bit." She said. Katina pointed to her right before looking back at Kaze.
