county jail ,
Those who have committed crimes and have been determined unfit for regular society are kept here, in the local jail. The inmates wear the notorious orange jumpsuits and are not given much in the way of luxuries. Some of the more well-behaved ones are allowed time to watch TV, and those who aren't dangerous to other inmates are allowed yard time, or time in the gym. They do get fed, but jail food isn't the best. It's best not to do anything to get yourself sent here. And guys- don't drop the soap!

law office ,
Whether working on a rare high-profile case or on one of the more common smaller cases, the lawyers that work in the local law offices are always busy. Some of the more ambitious ones are working to get their names attached to the building. After the previous head honchos mysteriously died without naming heirs, the office was left nameless, now simply "law office"

hospital ,
Whether it's a broken leg, a gunshot wound, or birth, the staff here at Bear Creek General Hospital have seen it all. They are always ready for any kind of medical emergency, whether they be surfing injuries or something worse, with the latest equipment in all their wards, and one of the few hospitals that has a decent supply in their blood bank.

police station ,
Even for a peaceful town, this place has seen its fair share of crime. That's not to say it runs rampant or anything, but the cops here have seen a lot of action. They are always ready to protect the town's citizens, with state-of-the-art crime-fighting equipment.

fire house ,
When there's a fire, a cat stuck in a tree, or someone has been injured, there skilled firefighters and paramedics will be on-scene as soon as they possibly can be. They're well-trained and ready to do whatever it takes to save a life. The garage houses both shiny red firetrucks and white ambulances. There's a break room on the first floor, and beds to sleep in on the second floor.

the clinic ,
Unlike the hospital, the clinic doesn’t actually treat “medical” cases. It is more of a half-way house, if you will, for the mentally ill who can’t live on their own, the incredibly old who can’t fend for themselves. This is also a sort of meeting place for Life Support, a small new-ish organization for local residents with terminal or chronic illnesses, such as AIDS/HIV, cancer, and others like that.

medical examiner’s office ,
This is where the local medical examiner conducts their business. It’s a morbid place, and people generally avoid the building if they can. There are a few offices in the front, but the bulk of the building is the morgue, with the metal slats that the autopsies are conducted on, and the lab, where tissue samples are analyzed to search for possible causes of death.
